We are setting up the gift shop in a mad dash to beat the grand opening weekend of the Victorian Christmas festival here in Canton MS. We will have bnb gifts, my grandmothers antiques and collectibles, maybe a childrens consignment shop, bnb and massage therapy gift certificates, and who knows what else! Here are some pics:

We have just gone into our winter rate period. We are priced comparably to Hampton Inn in Canton MS now. Of course we offer a true unique Historic Canton experience for your stay in town. The new rates are $90 – $115 for a double occupancy room in a Canton Mansion.
We are working on an idea of having a gift shop on the square, we’re preparing the store front for christmas anyway to make it pretty. In the process we are realizing that all we need is merchandise and we would have a shop! We have Heart’s content t-shirts, hats, aprons, Canton walking tour guides, Vicksburg cookbooks, some antiques and collectibles. So here’s the question for you out there: What would you like to see sold on the square?

The third annual Sip’n Cider Under the lights event will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009. From 5-9pm participating shops will be open, serving their own blend of Cider to be voted on by you! Santa will be on the square from 6-9pm too. Sample the cider, vote for the best and be registered for a door prize and stay at Heart’s Content bnb to really make your holidays special.
The historic square in Canton is starting to really look like Christmas, the light displays are being set up, and the stores are starting to show their Christmas colors.

Mistletoe marketplace is getting ready to kick in to high gear this weekend, and we have guests booked at Heart’s Content bed and breakfast, who will have a great weekend of shopping at MM and at the great Canton MS square shops. After all the shopping they’ll return here and enjoy a wonderful stay in our graceful turn of the century mansion.
