The McWillie-Singleton House is the other bnb in Canton. Visit their website here.

One of my favorite places to shop in Canton is Etc… gift shop, located in an old Gin on Peace street. Its definitely the funkiest store in Canton, full of fun stuff like soy candles, bamboo clothing, vintage dresses, small collectibles and local artwork. Right next door is Small Town Music, equally as unique. Susan and Frazier Riddell are the owners of the Old Paragon Gin which was operational for many years and was run by Frazier’s father. They have truly transformed an historic landmark into a plaza of coolness with their gift shop and music store. They also host events at the old Gin.They might even give you a quick tour of the cotton gin if you ask. Definitely worth a stop!!!

Two balloons were inflated. One in front of the visitors center and one on the lawn in front of the courthouse.
The shops will be open late, and hot air balloon(s) will be on the square. Come out and have some fun in Canton, MS.
We added a new page with directions and a map that shows the driving times from nearby cities. We’ll be adding a map with local attractions and restaurants soon.
The Depot was built in 1890 and in 1926 the north and south buildings were added. The Illinois Central Railroad Company owned and maintained the depot until 1991 when it was purchased by the Canton Redevelopment Authority.
The restoration was completed in June, 1999. The museum reflects the history of Madison County and how the “iron horse” affected social and economic growth and development, particularly the area in and around Canton.
Also, the museum has a few working model trains set up.
Canton has been host to a number of movies recently such as My Dog Skip, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, A Time to Kill, and more.
From the Canton Tourism website:
“Long known as the City of Lights, Canton has now become the City of Lights, Camera, Action! as word spreads among such film greats as the Coen Brothers and Joel Schumacher about the wealth of scenic and cultural resources to be found along these historic streets.
Join us as we revisit scenes from some of the most memorable films of our time in the Canton Film Museums!”

We have eaten here many times and highly recommend Two Rivers. The restaurant is about a 10 minute drive from Heart’s Content Bed and Breakfast and all of our guests come back with rave reviews!
