Christine’s Back Porch restaurant is exactly that. It gives you the southern feel of being at home and enjoying traditional soul food cooking. The restaurant is located in an antebellum style home that was built in 1838. The restaurant itself has been open for seven years. Besides the cozy decor, customers can enjoy the soft blues, jazz, gospel or classical music in the background. Christine’s also caters various events. Don’t forget to try her signature fried chicken.
Her hours are: Mon.-Fri. 11 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. and maybe Sun. 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
We love her food!
The bread pudding is to die for! Chistine’s Back Porch is awesome.
Christine’s is a little hidden jewel. It has good ole fashioned Southern cuisine and exudes charm. The menu is limited to a few items, but the selection is balanced and works well. The Owner has poured much of her heart and money into the restaurant. It is actually located within a restored Pastor’s home that Miss Christine rescued from destruction and had moved to the present site across from the old train depot in Canton. It is a unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience to have a meal there. I highly recommend it, and thank Miss Christine for her labors in making it available to us all.
