The Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Race and Festival takes place in Canton, Mississippi every year around July 4th. This event has been going strong for 23 years and attracts about 45,000 people. For three days our small town of Canton is visited by dozens of balloons, including Oggy the Dragon and Pandy the Panda Bear. The event includes a fireworks show, a balloon glow, and a launch party with live music and food. There are also skydivers as well. This is a great event for families. The kids love the giant character balloons and the children’s area. Most of the event is located at the multipurpose center except for the launch party which is held on the town square.
